Abstract

1286326 Practice wall structure TRANLY WALLS & MINI COURTS (PTY.) Ltd 9 Sept 1969 [18 Sept 1968 24 March 1969 27 June 1969] 44394/69 Heading A6D A practice wall structure for tennis or similar games is curved in both horizontal and vertical directions to provide a concave rebound surface which also includes formations which are indented and/or in relief relative thereto. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 1, formations 3 each comprising four faces 3b, 3c, 3d, 3e are provided above the line 4 of a net 5 permanently marked on or attached to the wall structure. The wall structure may be composed of several hinged sections and comprises a skin member (6) of fibre glass which may have a backing member spaced from it by a filler layer of cellular polyurethane. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 5, the wall is built from blocks which are tapered from their rear to their front faces and comprises blocks 21 whose front faces are flat and blocks 22 whose front faces have projecting formations 22b. The practice wall structure may form part of a court.
