Abstract
128,571. Durand, L. N. June 17, 1918, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Double walls; joist floors with slab filling; ceilings; reinforced-concrete beams; roofs; roof gutters.-A house or like building, Fig. 3, is formed of precast reinforced -concrete slabs and beams and comprises hollow walls formed of inner and outer slabs 5, Fig. 8, bonded by header blocks 6 grooved to receive tongues on the slabs, the foundation course consisting of blocks 4 grooved on the top face to prevent the wall slabs from slipping. All joints are cemented. The ground floor is formed of slabs 1, Fig. 4, resting on reinforced concrete joists 2 which are supported on concrete legs 3. The ceiling comprises a main girder 7, Figs. 9 and 10, transverse joists 10 tied by braces 8, and ceiling slabs 9. The roof consists of rafters 11, Figs. 11, 12, and 15, of H-section. half-notched and bolted together at the ridge and notched at the ends to receive the joists 10. The rafters form gutters between the roof slabs 14 and their outer ends form corbels 13.
