Abstract
1285666 Control systems for gas discharge lamps CEAG CONCORDIA ELEKTRIZITATS-AG 26 Jan 1970 [29 Jan 1969] 3698/70 Heading H2H [Also in Divisions H3 and G1] A circuit for energizing a loade.g. afluorescent tube 3, comprises push-pull oscillator transistors T 1 , T 2 , oscillations initiating resistor 6 and a blocking circuit comprising transistors T 3 , T 4 , the arrangement being such that when T 3 , T 4 are conducting, the base, emitter potentials of T 2 are made substantially equal thus blocking the oscillator. The blocking circuit may be associated with a passive control circuit A<SP>1</SP>, B<SP>1</SP>, C<SP>1</SP> including a photocell 10 and an active control circuit A<SP>11</SP>, B<SP>11</SP>, C<SP>11</SP> including a mains supply circuit 14, 15 and a control transistor T 5 . In the normal state, transistor T 5 is cut off by biasing diode 12; T 3 , T 4 conduct to block oscillations and battery 1 charges up from the mains. When the mains supply fails, T 5 conducts to cut off T 3 , T 4 provided ambient light as detected by photocell 10 is below a predetermined value and circuit T 1 , T 2 oscillates to supply power to load 3. The control circuits A<SP>1</SP>, B<SP>1</SP>, C<SP>1</SP>, and A<SP>11</SP>, B<SP>11</SP>, C<SP>11</SP> may also be used separately with the blocking circuit T 3 , T 4 .
