Abstract

1285573 Treating animals D W THOMAS 14 April 1970 [14 April 1969] 19013/69 Heading AIM [Also in Division A5] A cattle handling pen comprises an enclosure I having a front exit gate 2 which swings about hinges 3 and has forwardly facing lugs 4 on which are hingedly mounted arcuate yoke members 6 which swing about vertical axes. When a beast A stands in the enclosure 1 the yoke members 6 are swung about their axes to embrace its neck, Fig. 2, and the animal can then be treated. After treatment the yoke members 6 are opened apart and the gate 2 is opened to allow the animal to leave the enclosure 1, Fig. 3 (not shown). The yoke members 6 may alternatively be mounted above each other to move about horizontal axes.
