Abstract

1281846 Covering mattresses FRANCE BED CO Ltd 23 June 1970 30400/70 Heading A4M A mattress is formed by inserting a cushion member 10 as a loose fit into a cover 18 and then heating the assembly to cause the cover to shrink on to, and lightly compress. the cushion member 10, the cover comprising heat-shrinkable fibres 32 interwoven with substantially non heat shrinkable fibres such that a relief pattern 34 is produced on the shrunk cover. The shrinkable fibres 32 may be woven into a base fabric 30 of non heat shrinkable fibres, the shrinkable fibres 32 being disposed on the inside of the cover in the regions where the relief 34 is to be provided.
