1280963 Magnetic tape cartridges STEREODYNE Inc 19 Jan 1971 [22 Jan 1970] 2549/71 Heading G5R A cartridge roller 12 having a stepped periphery is driven by a capstan 20 such that the larger roller surface 34 moves at conventional speed; a tape 38, pressed against the smaller surface 36 by a pinch roller (22, Fig. 1, not shown), thereby moves at less than conventional speed, e.g. at one half thereof. In recording on the tape from a master tape, the master must be run at greater than conventional speed and/or the slave at less than conventional speed.
