Abstract
1280807 Clocks and watches CITIZENWATCH CO Ltd 10 Nov 1970 [10 Nov 1969] 53515/70 Heading G3T In a movement for an electronic timepiece in which a balance 1a, 1b is pivoted on a baseplate 5 and carries permanent magnets 20a-d which co-operate with sensing and driving coils 24, 25 respectively, the coils 24, 25 are mounted on an insulating carrier 26 which may be pivoted about a screw 27, after the latter has been slackened, into a maintenence position in which the coils are remote from the balance (as shown in chain dotted lines in Fig. 1). When the carrier 26 is in the operating position, tightening of the screw 27 holds the carrier and ensures electrical connections to the coils via terminals 39, 40, 42, 43 which are positioned around the screw 27 and insulated by sleeves 38, 41. The coils 24, 25 are connected at one end to terminals 39, 43 respectively, which are movable with the carrier. The adjacent terminals 40, 42 are connected to a transistor circuit see Fig. 2 (not shown) embedded in a resin block fixed to the plate 5. The other ends of the coils are earthed to the plate 5 via a terminal 31 and a screw 28 which also holds the carrier 26 in the operating position. There may be only two magnets 120a, c, Fig. 5 (not shown) on the balance, co-operating with coils formed as a single unit (124). In a further embodiment a coil unit 224, Fig. 6 is made up of two coaxial coils 224a, b, Fig. 7 (not shown) which are connected to conductive strips 71-73 printed on the top surface of carrier 226. The strips 71-73 are contacted by corresponding strips 78-80 on an insulating sheet 81 attached to the circuit block. The balance frequency may be adjusted by means of a regulator 9 having arms 9a, b which co-operate with an eccentric screw 10.
