Abstract

1278553 Line winders C E DRIVER 22 Jan 1971 2971/71 Heading A1A An attachment for transferring fishing line 16 from a storage drum 15 to a fixed reel 19 comprises a base 1 having a central hole 3, in which rod 2 is a push fit, and three octagonal sockets 8 near the edge of the base which receive octagonal protrusions of arms 4. The arms 4 each have a cranked portion 7 and a tapered portion 5 and may be of cruciformsection for strength. Arms 4 are fitted over the spinning head 12 by first selecting a position of each arm 4 in corresponding socket 8 so that tips 5 lie on a circle slightly less in diameter than head 12 and then flexing arms 4 so that once placed on head 12 they will grip the head by means of the rubber sleeves 6. A storage spool 15 on line 16 is now secured on shaft 2 and line 16 is passed through a hole 11, over pick-up bail 17 of line guide 18 and attached to reel 19. Crank 20 is now rotated to effect line transfer.
