Reservoir pens. - An ink-tight joint between a pen section and a thin metal barrel is obtained by means of a bushing or the like of hard rubber or its equivalent, which is tightly or substantially permanently fitted to the barrel and is less tightly and removably fitted to the pen section. In the construction shown in Fig. 1, the barrel 5 is threaded internally and externally at the open end 7 to receive respectively a bushing 8 and the usual cap 11. The threads are in staggered relation to preserve a substantially uniform thickness of wall. The bushing 8 is threaded internally to receive the usual threaded stem 10 of the pen section, and fits sufficiently tightly in the thread of the barrel to prevent it from unscrewing when the pen section is being removed. The bussing may be flush with the end of the barrel, as shown, or may project beyond the end of the barrel. In the modification shown in Fig. 3, the bushing 23 has a drive or friction fit in the barrel 21. Longitudinal movement, of the bushing may be prevented by means of a shoulder 22 on the barrel, and by turning over the end 25 of the barrel. Rotation of the bushing may be prevented by means of projections 24 on the barrel engaging with the inner end of the bushing.
