Abstract

1276970 Orienting bottles MONSANTO CO 29 Dec 1970 [29 Dec 1969] 61537/70 Heading B8S Bottles from a rotary feed-table 12 are drawn along a passage 16 by suction produced by air jets 24a, 24b and are arrested by a damper 30 and drawn neck first inwards through outlet 22. If a bottle enters the passage 16 neck first, the neck is drawn up through a slot in a plate 28, Figs. 3a, 3b (not shown). If a bottle enters passage 16 bottom first the neck passes up through a similar slot in a plate 26, Figs. 4a, 4b (not shown). Instead of using suction the bottles may fall under gravity, Fig. 5. The damping means may comprise airjets.
