Abstract

1276513 Escalators WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC CORP 30 Oct 1969 [12 Nov 1968] 53209/69 Heading B8A Treadboards for a moving walk each comprise a base portion 27 and a plurality of parallel spaced cleats 29 each having a pair of upstanding edges 30 to form a depression therebetween, which is substantially filled by a material 32 having a high coefficient of friction and which is bonded to the surfaces forming the depression. The treadboards are preferably made from diecast aluminium, although plastics may be used, and the material may be aluminium oxide, zinc oxide or carborundum mixed with an epoxy resin.
