Abstract

1276255 Seats A E POWELL 19 April 1971 [27 Feb 1970] 9552/70 Heading A4J To assist a person in getting up or sitting down, the seat 10 of a chair is hinged to the base 13 at its front edge 12 and is provided with springs 29 tending to lift it. The seat is lowered when desired, and its rising movement is controlled, by an electric motor 24 connected to it through a worm or other reduction gear 23, crank 21, and link 18. The motor is controlled by a switch 27 mounted on an arm of the chair.
