1275402 Delivering coins SABLOC AUTOMATIC SYSTEMS Ltd 23 May 1969 [23 Feb 1968] 53307/67 Heading G4V Apparatus for controlling the dispensing of coins from a magazine, e.g. in the form of change from a coin-freed vending machine, comprises a stop which normally prevents passage of coins through the magazine outlet, at least two members which normally allow such passage and means for moving the stop and a selected one of the members so that the member prevents passage of all coins except a selected number to be dispensed and the stop permits passage of the selected number. As shown, the apparatus is associated with the magazine exit channel formed by upper and lower spacers 22, 15 and side plates 10 and 11. Two members 34, 34<SP>1</SP> are selectively actuatable according to whether it is required to dispense one or five coins. When one of two actuating solenoids 30 (or 30<SP>1</SP>) is energized, member 34 (or 34<SP>1</SP>) moves through holes 27 (or 27<SP>1</SP>) in side plates 10, 11 to block passage of all coins save the one (or the five) nearest stop 40. Stop 40 is mounted on a spring-loaded plate 38 which is moved by the inserted member 34 (or 34<SP>1</SP>) to withdraw the stop from its operative position and permit the coin (or the five coins) to roll through exit 24 under gravity. Plate 38 may be gravity-loaded, rather than spring-loaded. Additional members 34 may be provided. If the coins are so shaped that no suitable gap exists between them for insertion of member 34, then the latter may be arranged to pass through a hole in the coin or abut the side surface of the coin. In the latter case, a cranked extension of member 34 may be arranged to operate stop-carrying plate 38.
