Abstract
1275128 Halophenyl phosphonates and thiophosphonates CIBA-GEIGY AG 30 Oct 1969 [5 Nov 1968] 53219/69 Heading C2P Esters of the general formula where R 1 and R 2 are C 1-5 alkyl, or R 1 is chloromethyl, and X is oxygen or sulphur, are prepared by reacting an alkane phosphonic or thiophosphonic acid halide with 2,4-dibromo-5- chlorophenol and a C 1-5 alcohol, preferably in the presence of an acid-binding agent and a catalyst. The compounds have pesticidal properties.
