1,274,218. Graft polymer compositions. UNIROYAL Inc. 1 May, 1969 [23 Aug., 1968 (2)], No. 55805/71. Divided out of 1,274,217. Heading C3G. A plastics material capable of receiving an electrolessly deposited metal coating comprises a blend of (A) up to 55% by weight of an interpolymer resin of from 0À25-25% vinyl pyridine, 64À5-90% styrene, and 5-35% acrylonitrile (said percentages are based on total weight of polymer), together with (B) not less than 45% of a resinous polymer which is a graft polyblend of (a) styrene and acrylonitrile grafted on to polybutadiene or poly(butadiene-co-styrene) and (b) a oopolymer of styrene and acrylonitrile. A preferred composition contains an interpolymer comprising 4 % vinylpyridine, 64À5 % styrene and 31À5% acrylonitrile, and a graft polyblend comprising an ABS graft polymer (16 : 50 : 34) and a styrene/acrylonitrile copolymer (74 : 26).
