Abstract
1,273,892. Coin shoot. COIN CONTROLS Ltd. 19 April, 1971 [7 March, 1970], No. 11056/70. Heading G4V. A coin shoot, defined between walls A and B (shown before assembly) and for a coin freed vending machine, is formed with a barrier a<SP>4</SP>, apertured at a<SP>5</SP>, and a barrier b<SP>4</SP> apertured at b<SP>5</SP>, so that a coin entering at a must follow a sinuous path before tripping an arm d to actuate a microswitch D, which in turn sets the vending mechanism (not shown) in operation. A wire, fraudulently inserted at a in an attempt to trip the arm d is likely instead to pass out of the shoot via apertures a<SP>5</SP> or b<SP>6</SP>. The pivot point Fig. 3 (not shown), of a lever D<SP>1</SP> can be adjusted, so that small diameter coins are deflected by lever D<SP>1</SP> and do not trip arm d. Lever D<SP>1</SP> also prevents a correctly diametered coin, to which a string is attached, from being withdrawn up the shoot after it has tripped arm d. The width of the shoot can be adjusted by using selected ones of spaced holes a<SP>1</SP>, b<SP>1</SP>, a<SP>3</SP>, b<SP>3</SP> to secure a plate B<SP>1</SP>.
