Abstract

1,272,610. Pipe supports. UNION CARBIDE CORP. 3 Sept., 1969, No. 43607/69. Heading F2G. A pipe support for a pipe 10 insulated by layer 12 includes two supports 14, 16, the former shaped to receive the pipe 10 and the latter to be supported by a structural member, e.g. I- girder 18 and both have a flat surface for sliding contact with each other. The support 14 has at least one slot 20 inclined at from 1 to 45 degrees to the support 16 receiving a band 22 for securing the pipe 10 to it. The support 16 may be shaped so that it can conveniently be attached to the structural member. The supports may be of carbon, asbestos or polymerized fluorocarbons.
