Abstract
1,272,600. Sulphur-containing phosphonamides. STAUFFER CHEMICAL CO. 30 July, 1969 [16 Aug., 1968 (2)], No. 38161/69. Heading C2P. Compounds of the general formula where R is alkyl, R<SP>1</SP> is alkyl or the group -CH 2 -R<SP>2</SP> where R<SP>2</SP> is alkenyl or alkynyl; X is oxygen or sulphur, and R<SP>3</SP> is hydrogen, alkyl or alkenyl, are prepared, when X is oxygen, by reacting (R)(R<SP>a</SP>O)P(S)Cl with NH 2 R<SP>3</SP> and reacting the resulting intermediate (R)(R<SP>a</SP>O)P(S)- (NHR<SP>3</SP>) with R<SP>1</SP>I, where R<SP>a</SP> is alkyl, or, when X is sulphur, by reacting (R-P(S)-S) 2 with NH 2 R<SP>3</SP> and reacting the resulting salt of formula with R<SP>1</SP>I. The products have pesticidal and herbicidal properties.
