[Also in Division H4] Personal listening apparatus includes a junction piece 15 havig an inlet 14 and two outlets 16, 17 each leading to a passage 18, 19 for feeding sound to an earpiece 21, 22. An adjustable volume control is in the form of a member 25 actuated between the outlets 16, 17 and arranged progressively to enter the inlet 14. Foam plastics material in the region 29 of entry of the member 25 damps sound waves in accordance with its degree of deformation. The junction piece 15 is of polypropylene and the earpieces 22, 23 and tubes 11, 18 and 19 are of plastics material. The tubes 18, 19 may be shaped by heat treatment to suit the individual.
