1,270,258. Purification of inert gas streams. UNITED KINGDOM ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY. 25 April, 1969 [21 May, 1968], No. 24242/68. Heading C1A. A method of purifying inert gas streams of helium, argon or nitrogen containing volatile acidic or alkaline contaminants at low partial pressures comprises mixing the stream with a volatile alkaline or acidic additive to form a lessvolatile product and trapping the product on a porous sorbent material by sorption or filtration. In the example CO 2 and H 2 O are removed from argon by reaction on molecular sieves.
