Abstract

Intestines, treating.-Sausage casings are wound on a drum a, having a perforated hollow core b and end flanges c, each flange having a notch d in which the ends of the salted casings wound upon the core are secured. The drum is then put into a bath and the casings washed whilst rotating the drum. The casings are subsequently removed, and pressed between rollers or pads.
