Each door 2 of a motor vehicle has a recessed portion 3 in the lower portion of its inner surface, the recessed portion 3 forming a space between the door 2 and the side of the seat adjacent to said door, the space extending in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body when the door 2 is closed. An air outlet 5 situated in front of the driver's seat directs air for ventilation purposes along the space between the recessed portion 3 and the driver's seat and into the corresponding recessed portion 3 adjacent to the rear seat of the vehicle. A pillar 4 has a recessed portion in the lower portion of its inner surface for communicating between the recessed portions 3, 3 of the front and rear doors 2, 2.
