Abstract

1,264,476. Sintered carbon fibre reinforced ceramics. PLESSEY CO. Ltd. July 7, 1969 [July 12, 1968], No.33506/68. Heading C7D. A sintered carbon fibre reinforced ceramic e. g. Si 3 N 4 is made by adding the fibres to the ceramic powder prior to sintering. A rotor blade is made by part filling a die with Si 3 N 4 powder, loading carbon fibres on the powder, applying further powder and then hot pressing.
