Abstract
1,263,313. Film transport mechanism. AGFA-GEVAERT AG. March 14, 1969 [March 19, 1968], No. 13477/69. Heading G2A. The actuation of the shutter release of a camera also releases a film transport lock, thus allowing the film to be wound on. Fig.1 shows the mechanism ready for an exposure, A slide 11, mounted for vertical movement, has a spring arm 17, of which the free end is anchored in a fixed part 18 of the camera housing, and which urges the slide downwards. When a further arm 12 of the slide is aligned with a perforation in the film 1 as it winds across from spool 4 to spool 5, it enters the perforation, and so locks the film against further movement. Another arm 13 of the slide carries a locking tooth 14 which, in the position shown, engages in a toothed rim 3c on the transport wheel 3, so preventing it from rotating. At the upper end of the slide is a stop pin 19. A second slide 20 is attached to the shutter release 21, and can move backwards and forwards in the directions A-B. On moving in direction A, the cam edge of slide 20 engages pin 19, and so raises slide 11 (direction C). This frees arm 12 from the perforation, and tooth 14 from wheel 3, thus allowing wheel 3 to be rotated in the direction E. A further flexible arm 15 of the slide 11 has a point 16 which engages frictionally against the toothed section 3a, and holds slide 11 up long enough for the film to begin moving. The slide is then returned again by the spring action of arm 17 until arm 12 rests on the surface of the film, and engages in the next perforation, so returning to the transport locking position of Fig. 1. For the next exposure, shutter release 21 is moved in direction B, and the previous sequence of operations repeated. The shutter comprises a single disc 23 rotating on a pin 35 between two extreme positions defined by one or other of edges 38, 39 abutting against a fixed stop 40. The exposure is effected by a slot 36 in the disc passing an exposure aperture 37. The disc is driven by an overcentre spring 41, attached to the disc at one end 42, and at the other end 43 to an arm 21b of the shutter release 21.
