1,263,249. Microfiche readers. SCOTTISH INSTRUMENTS Ltd. May 28, 1969 [July 31, 1968], No.36598/68. Heading G2A. A microfiche projection reader comprises a transparent table 19 for supporting the microfiche behind projection lens 16 and being mounted for movement and or down an inclined carriage 20 by means of an elongated pinion 30 and racks 32 on table 19, carriage 20 being displaceable horizontally by means of wire or string loop 25 partially wound on a manually rotatable spindle 27 and attached to the carriage. Upward and horizontal displacement of table 19 is shown on scales 33, 34. The reader has a folded optical system and is collapsible into a carrying case.
