Abstract

1,263,242. Clamp. GIRDERGRIP Ltd. 14 Feb., 1969 [15 Feb., 1968], No. 7522/68. Heading E2A. A tube clamp comprises two hook shaped flat parts 10, 11 pivoted together at 12, each having an L-shaped aperture comprising an entry part 19, a corner part 23 and an end part 24, the parts being pivotably movable between an open position as shown, when a pipe 22 may enter the parts 19 and a closed position (Fig. 2, not shown) when the parts 24 are aligned to form a circular aperture about the tube, angular movement of the parts occurring as the pipe is moved, from its entry into parts 19, towards the parts 23, 24. Slots 30 and clamp bars are provided to secure a cable to one or both parts. A number of the clamps may be used to provide a tubular construction with staying.
