Abstract

1,262,041. Combine harvesters. DEERE & CO. 25 March, 1970 [26 March, 1969], No. 14425/70. Heading A1F. [Also in Division B8] A crop collecting container, e.g. grain tank 10 comprises at least two emptying augers 20 arranged substantially parallel and preferably if there are only two driven in opposite rotational directions, which lie in a common trough 18 at the bottom of the tank. The floor of the trough is inverted 'V'-shape in construction between the augers so that total emptying of the container is achieved. The augers are preferably oriented in the transport direction of a discharge conveyor 30 and supply harvested crop to its inlet aperture 28, the sum of the diameters of the augers being equal to or smaller than the maximum inside width of the aperture. The augers can be driven independently and the drive to one is constructed for automatic switching in via a speed-controlled or torque-controlled coupling 38 and including a time switch. The drive is from one hydraulic motor via transmission means 46.
