Abstract

1,261,788. Collapsible wire crates. BOUCHER-GILES & CO. Ltd. 30 April, 1970 [3 June 1969], No. 28035/69. Heading B8P. A collapsible wire crate has a base 10 and two opposite side walls 15 pivotally mounted on the base 10 by mounting means provided at opposite ends of each of said side walls 15. The crate will be hereinafter described in the orientation shown in the Figure. Each of said mounting means comprises a generally U-shaped piece of wire 13 extending upwardly from the base and lying in a plane normal to the side walls, one limb 18 of said generally U-shaped piece of wire including an intermediate outwardly cranked part 19; and a part 23 of the associated side wall 15 including a member 24 extending in a direction normal to said wall 15 and connected thereto by an outwardly extending part 25. The base part 16 of each U-shaped piece of wire 13 is welded to the inwardly directed side of a peripheral base wire 11, whilst the tops of limbs 17 and 18 are welded to the inside and outside faces of a top wire 12 respectively. The pivotal side walls 15 may be removed from the crate when they are folded down into a position generally parallel to the base by urging the parts 23 of each side wall inwardly.
