1,261,259. Stationery. J. LAVIGNE. Dec.29, 1969 [Dec.30, 1968], No.63103/69. Heading G3T. [Also in Division B6] A process for the manufacture of pads having a rigid stub and tear-off leaves e.g. a calender pad comprises the steps of stacking a number of sheets together with at least a film of heat softening or melting glue between each layer and heating the stub while applying pressure to effect adhesion. The film of glue, such as thermoplastic glue which melts at about 80-100 ‹C. and becomes hard on being cooled, may be in the form of a complete sheet or applied to one side of every sheet or to both sides of alternate sheets. The arrangement allows easy printing 10 on the stub.
