Abstract
1,260,407. Suction dredging installations. INGENIEURSBUREAU VOOR SYSTEMEN EN OCTROGEN SPANSTAAL N.V. 6 March, 1969 [6 March, 1968], No. 11992/69. Heading E1F. A suction-dredging installation is controlled to operate at maximum efficiency either manually or automatically in response to an indication or signal of a magnitude dependent upon the pressure differential measured between the intake and outlet of the or one of suction pumps 2 coupled to the suction pipe 4 of the installation. Means for differentiating the pressure difference with respect to time may be included in a signal-emitting system associated with the means for recording the pressure differential, and the signal emitted from the system may control means to allow of adjustment of an appropriate part of the installation, e.g. a suction head as specified in Specification No. 1,089,081, to maintain the desired maximum efficiency.
