Abstract

1,260,113. Inductive signalling. TELEDICTOR Ltd. 13 Jan., 1969 [13 Jan., 1968; 9 May, 1968], Nos. 2007/68 and 1947/69. Heading H4U. In a system for identifying persons or articles, an oscillator OSC supplies a plurality of discrete frequencies to a coil C1 which is loosely coupled to a receiving coil C2. Each person or device to be identified carries a unit comprising a resonant circuit CL which varies the coupling between coils C1, C2 at a predetermined frequency. Filters F1 to F4 select the discrete frequencies received by coil C2, which are rectified (R1 to R4) to provide voltages corresponding to the respective magnitudes of the received signals and supplied to comparators COM1 to COM4. The comparators also receive a reference voltage derived from the oscillator OSC via a network VR, only the comparator corresponding to the resonant frequency of the circuit CL producing an output which is fed to an identity establishing unit. The coils C1, C2 may be arranged in the vicinity of a door, reception of the correct signal enabling the door to be opened. Alternatively the arrangement may be used to identify a vehicle and operate an automatic loading or unloading device.
