[Also in Division G2] A means for indicating when a movable part, such as a car door, is in a predetermined position relative to a fixed part comprises a light source 13 and an optical cable 14 on the fixed part, and means on the movable part to transmit light from the lamp 13 to cable 14 and via the cable to a warning light 15 on the dashboard 16. The means may comprise a mirror 17, or a loop of optical cable, and its position determines the point at which the warning light is operated. The lamp 13 may be replaced by another optical cable extending from a remote light source.
