Abstract

1,257,882. Electro-photographic copying apparatus. KOMBINAT PENTACON DRESDEN KAMERA-UND KINOWERKE VEB. Jan 23, 1970, No.3430/70. Heading G2H. Electro-photographic copying apparatus comprises a line-by-line scanning arrangement which repeatedly scans the original until a pre-set number of copies has been made. As shown, a motor 1 drives a xerographic drum 2 and, through an electromagnetic clutch 3, drives a cam disc 5 having a collar 4. Cam 5 reciprocates an arm 7 which scans a lens 9 across a micro-film original 8. At the end of each scanning cycle, cam 5 closes a switch 10 energizing an electromagnet 11, which moves counting mechanism 12 on one, and energizing an electromagnet 14 which holds a lever 15, preventing it from entering a slot 16 in collar 4 which would release switch 17 and de-energize the clutch 3. When the selected number of copies has been made, a lever 18 pivots against a lever 20 opening a switch 13 to prevent energization of electromagnet 14. Thus lever 15 enters slot 16 halting cam 5 and de-energizing clutch 3 to terminate scanning.
