Abstract

1,257,769. Identifying cables. INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP. 6 Oct., 1970 [13 Oct., 1969], No.47463/70. Heading H1A. [Also in Division B6] A plastics material cable sheath 10 is provided with raised identifying marks by stencilling with a plastics material powder 13 while hot after manufacture. The powder is sintered by the heat of the sheath 10 and is united with the sheath surface. Preferably the powder 13 is of a different colour from the sheath 10. A sheath 10 may be passed through a gap between two rotating stencil rings 8, and receive an imprint on each side, e.g. by application of powder 13 entrained in a blast of compressed air.
