Abstract
1,256,650. Cyclopentene polymerization catalyst. FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER A.G. 22 April, 1970 [23 April, 1969], No. 19253/70. Heading C3P. Cyclopentene is homopolymerized or copolymerized with dicyclopentadiene, norbornene, norbornadiene or indene in the presence of a catalyst comprising (a) irradiated WCl 6 and (b) an organoaluminium compound e.g. iBu 3 Al. The process may be terminated e.g. with iPrOH/nBu 3 N/a(bisphenol)methane compound.
