Abstract

1,254,860. Liquid level indication. W. E. GILSON. Dec.31, 1968 [Feb. 1, 1968], No. 61964/ 68. Heading G1H. Light-sensitive control apparatus comprises transparent receptacles 16 made of a plastics material which may be coupled by members (22A, 22B), Fig.2 (not shown) to other receptacles and moved sequentially past a light source 12 and lightsensitive device 14 where they may be filled with a liquid to a level determined by the apparatus. The receptacles are positioned between light shielding walls 24, 28, the wall 24 has a light receiving aperture 26 in part of a light source 12 and the wall 28 has a light receiving aperture 30 slightly vertically disposed about the aperture 26 so that the light is intercepted by the liquid surface 34 between the apertures to indicate that the liquid has reached the desired level in the receptacle 16. A lens may be provided on one of the walls 16B of the receptacle 16. (For Figure see next page)
