Compositions which give rise to a reduced amount of pain when injected are made by incorporating in an aqueous injection vehicle an active substance selected from: #-group vitamins, ascorbic acid, glutathione, chloramphenicol and cocarboxylase, their derivatives and salts thereof, and at least one of arginine, ornithine, lysine and non-toxic acid addition salts thereof.
