Abstract
1,251,028. 2-Oxasteroids. ROUSSELUCLAF. 15 Aug., 1968, No. 14603/71. Divided out of 1,251,025. Addition to 1,251,025. Heading C2C. Compounds of formula (wherein R is Me or Et and R<SP>4</SP> is an aliphatic hydrocarbyl group having up to 5 carbon atoms and optionally interrupted by an oxygen atom) are prepared by etherification of the corresponding free 17#-ols. The latter are prepared as described in Specification 1,251,025. Compounds of the above formula are stated to possess anabolizing and androgenic effects and may be made up with carriers into pharmaceutical compositions for oral, parenteral, rectal and topical administration.
