Abstract

The support structure of a bed comprises a preformed head portion (10) and a preformed foot portion (11). These portions are hollow, and at least one of them contains a drawer affording accessible storage space. The portions are linked by means such as bars (31) enabling the portions to be assembled and disassembled at will. The bars have pins (34) entering complementary bushes in the end portions so that the bars can be simply lowered into position to effect assembly. One or more additional drawers may be provided between the head and foot portions and open laterally of the bed. The additional drawer or drawers may be supported on rails (35) on the head and foot portions. <IMAGE>
