Abstract

1,247,020. Up-and-over door operating mechanism. H. HORMANN [trading as HORMANN K.G.]. 20 Sept., 1968 [22 Sept., 1967], No. 44920/68. Heading E2M. Door operating mechanism for an up and over door 1 comprises a roller carrying shaft 6 with roller 5 at each side of the door and adapted to be driven e.g. by belt drive from an electric motor mounted on the door, the rollers 5 making frictional engagement with guide tracks 4 at each side of the door, a bearing member 7 at each end of the shaft rotatably supporting the shaft 6 and being movably mounted by the provision of slots (18) for the flanges 12, 13 in a U-section strip 16 mounted by its web on the door panel, between positions determined by dowels 21, 22 against spring pressure by spring 20 mounted on the flanges 13 so as to be limited dowel 21 so that as the rollers 5 move from the vertical to the horizontal path .they are respectively kept in contact with the lower or upper legs of the guide rails. If it is desired to use the sides of the rollers to aid their driving action the rollers are pressed against the inner sides of the webs of the guide rails by means of a spring 24.
