[Also in Division Cl] In a method of cultivating plants the roots are supplied with a liquid nutrient in the form of a moving film. The nutrient is supplied by pipes 2, 3, Fig. 1, to the space between an inclined trough 1 and a covering sheet 7 and the plants 5 may be located in pots 6. A series of parallel troughs having a common gutter may be provided and a pump may circulate the liquid nutrient.
