Abstract

1,245,390. Centrifugal separators. ALFA LAVAL A.B. 9 July, 1970 [24 July, 1969], No. 33372/70. Heading B2P. In a centrifugate for separating liquids, e.g. of the type described in Specifications 1,111,557 and 1,173,489, the surfaces of separating discs adapted to come into contact with liquid to be separated are coated with a completely or partly fluorinated poly-alkene so as to reduce the build-up of deposits thereon. The coating may consist of P.T.F.E., polychlorotrifluoroethylene, polyvinylidenefluoride, polyvinylfluoride or poly-(tetrafluoro-ethylene,perfluoropropene). The centrifuge may be used for separating milk or yeast-containing wort.
