Abstract

1,245,377. Propylene polymer compositions. AVISUN CORP. 12 Feb., 1970 [17 Feb., 1969], No. 6803/70. Heading C3P. Compositions comprise a crystalline propylene polymer and 10 to 80 weight per cent based on the polymer of a filler comprising chrysotile asbestos and calcium silicate or talc. The polymer may be polypropylene or copolymer of propylene with at least one other C 2-8 olefin, e.g. ethylene or butene-1, included segmented and terminal block propylene/ethylene copolymers. The preferred calcium silicate is a natural calcium metasilicate, e.g. wollastonite. Examples describe compositions comprising polypropylene or a propylene/ethylene terminal block copolymer stabilized with 2,6-di-t. butyl- 4-methylphenol, epichlorohydrin/bis phenol condensate, dilauryl thiodipropionate and calcium stearate together with chrysotile asbestos and wollastonite or tale.
