[Also in Divisions B1, B2, C4 and C5] A foamable composition, for use as a well circulation or cleaning fluid, comprises a C 10 - C 20 sulphonated olefin in association with an alcohol of general formula RCH 2 OH where R is an alkyl group having from 8 to 14 carbon atoms. The alkyl group is either a straight chain or contains a methyl group as the sole branch.
