Abstract

1,242,756. Dyeing polyamides. FARBWERKE HOECHST A.G. 9 Sept., 1968 [9 Sept., 1967], No. 42803/68. Heading D1B. Textile materials made of polyamide fibres are dyed with cationic dyes in presence of an auxiliary compound of the benzene series having less than 10 carbon atoms and one or more sulphonic acid groups or an alkali metal salt thereof or a reaction product of 1 mol of cyanuric chloride with 1 to 3 moles of metanilic acid in the form of the alkali metal salt or a condensation product of a saturated or unsaturated fatty acid containing 8 to 20 preferably 12 to 17 carbon atoms with an aminoalkane sulphonic acid in the form of its alkali metal salt or a mixture of said compounds is added to the dyebath. 0.5 to 15% by weight of auxiliary calculated on the weight of the textile is preferably used dyeing at pH 2 to 7 and 60‹ to 130‹C being preferred. Benzene sulphonic acid, 1,3-benzene disulphonic acid and oleylmethyltauride all as sodium salts are specified as auxiliaries.
