Abstract
1,242,454. Intruder alarm systems. JOHNSON SERVICE CO. 7 Aug., 1968 [7 Aug., 1967], No. 37742/68. Heading G4N. [Also in Division H3] An intruder alarm comprises an antenna 1, 2 charged from a D.C. supply 11 and connected to the gate of at least one field effect transistor 7, arranged to operate an alarm 5 in the event of variation in charge on the antenna 1, 2. As described, the antenna 1, 2 may be a pair of wires used to protect a door or window, or a multiplicity of wires to protect an entire building or area, or may be formed by a safe. Increase in charge on antenna 1, 2 due to proximity of an intruder, increases the conduction of a p.channel insulated gate, field effect transistor (FET) 7 which turns on a silicon controlled rectifier (SCR) 22 and operates an unspecified audible or visiblea arm 5. Reduction in charge on antenna 1, 2 causes increase in current in n-channel FET 8 which turns on SCR 22<SP>1</SP> and operates alarm circuit 6.
