Abstract
1,242,345. Alarm systems. AMERICAN DISTRICT TELEGRAPH CO. 27 Feb., 1969 [5 April, 1968], No. 10505/69. Headings G4H and G4N. [Also in Division H3] In a burglar alarm system a manual switch H1, H2 (shown in the inoperative position) in protected premises 11 actuates a astable multivibrator Q2, Q3 controlling an electronic switch Q1 to send pulses along a line 12 to a central station 10 comprising a battery 15 and alarm means 13. An open circuit in the path ABCD is prevented from causing a false alarm by diodes D6, D7, D8 which prevent operation of the multivibrator. A tone generator 20 and a tone responsive device 16 indicate earths or open circuits in the circuitry. A Zener diode D10 protects the circuitry from excess voltages. An alarm bell or lamp may be connected between 19 and 22 at premises 11. Automatic burglar alarm devices may be provided at 18, which may comprise door and window contacts, foil, photo-electric beams, sound-responsive systems, or capacitive responsive systems.
