Abstract

1,241,599. Dyeing cellulose with reactive dyes. FARBWERKE HOECHST A.G. 28 July, 1969 [27 July, 1968], No. 37811/69. Heading D1B. Cellulose woven and knitted fabrics are continuously dyed in hose form by padding in a foulard having a roller coating of less than 60‹ Shore hardness with a aqueous liquor containing a reactive dye and alkali followed by steaming in a perforated drum steamer at a temperature of 101-150‹C. The roller Shore hardness is preferably 45‹-55‹ and steaming is at 103-115‹C, preferred dyes contain a vinylsulphone group or a #-(2,2,3, 3-tetrafluorocyclobutyl)-acryloylamino group which may be substituted by methyl in the 4- position, alkalis include sodium-hydroxide, -carbonate, -bicarbonate, trifluophate and silicate, corresponding pottassium compounds may also be used.
