A clutch withdrawal bearing unit comprises a ball or roller thrust bearing with inner and outer races 3 and 4, one of which forms or is attached to a sleeve 1 carrying the bearing, and the other or a further ring 11 thereon forms a clutch operating member, and a ring 14 of rubber (e.g. neoprene) or other resilient material (e.g. # to “ inch thick) surrounds (e.g. by adhesion, friction or lips) the outer ring 4. The bearing may be moved axially by a fork fitting between faces 9 and 10.
