Abstract

1,241,443. Moulded seat; chair frame. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 24 Feb., 1969 [27 March, 1968], No. 14768/68. Headings A4H and A4J. A chair comprises a hollow structure made from two sections 1 and 2 of rigid plastics material, each section being in the form of a dome and having an egg-shaped oval base With a flange 3 extending therefrom the two sections being joined together with the flanges abutting one another, one of the domed sections 1 being formed with an aperture for sitting access to the chair. A chain 9 attached to the flanges is provided for supporting the chair. The edge of the aperture 10 and the flanges may be covered by a section of extruded P.V.C. The chair may also be provided with means for illumination. The chair may be made from polymethylmethacrylate p.v.c., polypropylene, A.B.S. polymers or glass fibre reinforced polyesters.
